Grandpa Valadez came to visit a couple of weeks ago...we were excited to see him and Lisa! We had a little barbecue with the fam and played with Layla and Xander all day. Layla is still bigger than Xander but, I have a feeling he will catch up very soon.
We celebrated Jayson's birthday last week. We went to dinner with the Van Wagoner clan at Jayson's favorite restaurant...Roma's, and it was delicious:) We also celebrated with a BBQ to test out Jayson's birthday present, a meat smoker. He is becoming a great cook in his old age!
Layla is working on sitting up. She is determined to lift her head and flex her belly when she is reclined in anything...her car seat, on the couch and sitting on moms lap. She has also been developing a silly laugh lately! Jayson thought it was her faking a cough, but that is how she thinks a laugh should sound. It is hilarious.
I am getting very excited for the holidays. I can't wait to dress Layla up in holiday cheer...now that halloween is over. She was a very adorable bunny rabbit for halloween.

Layla's grandma came to stay with us last week...we had a great time! It was really nice for me to have her stay at home:) Now that I am back at work part time Layla has been spending a lot of time with her aunt and Grandma Van Wagoner! I am so lucky to have family members who are so supportive! While Darlene was in town we were able to help Jesse and Erin move and spend some fun times with Jayson's family! We were able to see Xander a couple more times...he is very cute! Layla will be three months old on Sunday! I cannot believe that she is already three months old...time really has flown by. She is laughing a lot these days, she is a very happy baby!Jayson's dad will be coming in town this weekend to see the grandchildren...I am sure he and Lisa will be suprised about how much Layla has grown.
Jayson and I are having such a wonderful time being parents...Layla is the best thing that has ever happened to us.

My First Blog

OCTOBER

I wanted to start this blog so our family is able to keep in touch. We have so many relatives who live far away. I will try to update the blog often and add many pictures...We miss you all. Okay, here goes....
Layla is getting so big! Jayson and I took her to her two month checkup on my birthday, September 22nd. We guessed that she would be about 9 pounds...she was 9'14! I was so happy, but, everyone still asks me if she was born yesterday. :) She was 23 inches long. She doubled her birth weight and grew 3 inches. It is amazing to see how fast she is growing.
Layla has the cutest little personality. She coos, smiles and laughs constantly! She really loves it when I read and sing to her. Everyday gets more and more exciting. On September 19th, she rolled over from her tummy to her back. It took her about 15 minutes, but she was very determined. Jayson thinks I am lying about it, because she has not done it since. She is very strong, she holds her head up most of the time.
Her cousin Xander was born on September 21st and we went to visit him at the hospital. I know they will be best buds! He is just the cutest thing. He looks just like his dad! Layla will be lucky to have so many cousins her age. Jessica's baby, (maybe named Carly) will be born on December 6th...can't wait!
