Trip to Zion

Well we did it...first vacation since Layla joined our family! How lame are we really? 9 months without a vacay? That should be against the law! I was nervous Nelly, I was feeling really guilty about making Layla ride in the car to Zion...well, she slept the whole time there! Made me feel like a real pain in the butt, because I made such a fuss about it to Jayson. Good to know that she is such an angel. We had so much fun...I love Zion. It is a cute little town like Jackson Hole. I could have stayed there longer! We stayed in a cute little hotel, and it was so nice I even let Layla crawl on the ground! Can you believe it? The trip was a little to celebrate our one year anniversary and Jayson ran a 10k through Zion. He ran the race in 52 minutes...he is a trooper! Pretty good for his first 10k. He didn't even stop to look at the amazing scenery, he was too "in the zone!" After the race we went on a hike to the Emerald Pools. It was gorgeous. The day was beautiful and so were the waterfalls. Layla had a blast, she was soaking in the fun. At the end of hike she started fussing so I took her out of her pack and held her. She fell asleep in my arms, we laid her down on the grass in the park and she slept on the grass like a hippie! It was adorable. We had a short visit with grandma and grandpa Valadez in St. George before we headed back...it was so much fun. Layla had so much fun at Grandpa's she skipped both of her naps that day...didn't want to miss a thing. Thanks guys, you are good hosts! We also made a trip to our favorite eateries in San Jorge...In and Out and Irmedas! YUMMY! We are so food driven :) Layla is cruzin everywhere...she is crawling hands and knees now and last week she started letting go of the items she pulls herself up on! Can you say scary! Everyone thinks she will start walking soon, but she looks too small to me...I hope she takes a couple more months, so I can prepare for the madness...
